The fair-use rules

Terms of Use

Last updated: 24 September 2026 · Applies to the CatchIn iOS app and its extensions

Welcome to CatchIn. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the CatchIn app for iOS, including its Share extension, keyboard, widgets and related services (together, “CatchIn” or “the App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Subscriptions purchased in the App are also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement — see Apple's standard EULA. If these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA regarding a purchase, Apple's EULA controls for that purchase.

1. The App

CatchIn is a capture inbox: it lets you save text, links, images, screenshots, PDFs and files from other apps through the iOS Share sheet, find them with on-device search (including text inside images), and reuse them through the CatchIn keyboard, widgets, Siri and Spotlight. It requires iOS 17 or later.

2. No account

CatchIn does not require registration. Because there is no account, you are responsible for keeping your device and its backups secure — anyone with unlocked access to your iPhone can see what the App stores. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

3. Your content

  • You keep ownership of everything you save in CatchIn.
  • You grant no rights to us beyond what is needed to run the App on your device — the App processes your content locally.
  • You are responsible for what you save: only capture content you have the right to store and use.
  • Sample captures included for demos are clearly labelled, never count toward limits, and can be removed in Settings.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use CatchIn for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or infringing of others' rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the App except where such restrictions are prohibited by law
  • Use the App to distribute malware or to interfere with the normal operation of iOS or the extensions
  • Remove, obscure or alter ownership notices in the App

5. Free and Pro plans

  • Free includes up to 10 captures, plus search, OCR, drawers, pins, Share sheet, keyboard and widgets. Sample captures do not count toward the limit.
  • CatchIn Pro removes capture and drawer limits and adds extras such as the Face ID lock.
  • Limits and included features may change as the App evolves; we will not remove access to content you have already saved.

6. Subscriptions, billing and trials

  • Pro is sold as an auto-renewing in-app subscription through the Apple App Store; payment is handled by Apple. CatchIn never sees your card details.
  • The App uses RevenueCat to deliver and validate purchases. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
  • Pro is offered as monthly and yearly plans. The price, billing period and any free trial or introductory offer are shown in the App and on the App Store confirmation sheet before you buy, in your local currency; prices can vary by country.
  • If a free trial or introductory offer is shown, it converts to the regular paid subscription automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Manage or cancel any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
  • Use Restore Purchases in the App if Pro does not appear on a device signed into the same Apple ID.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its refund policy, not by CatchIn directly.

7. Security features

Face ID lock, when enabled, uses iOS biometrics as an extra layer on top of your device passcode. It is not a substitute for securing your iPhone. The CatchIn keyboard runs without Full Access and does not store what you type, as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party services

CatchIn depends on Apple platform services (iOS, App Store, Spotlight, notifications) and RevenueCat for subscriptions. Their terms and privacy policies apply to those components. The App contains no advertising SDKs.

9. Intellectual property

The CatchIn name, logo, design and code are the property of CatchIn (or its licensors). These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Your content remains yours — see section 3.

10. The App is provided “as is”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CatchIn is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that search/OCR results will always be perfectly accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CatchIn and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ₹1,000 if you have paid nothing.

12. Termination

You may stop using CatchIn at any time by deleting the App. If you breach these Terms, we may suspend or stop providing the App to you (for example, by blocking a future update). Sections 3, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, delete the App.
